A three-member delegation led by Director Wang Wei visited South Korea at the invitation of the Gyeonggi Provincial Museum. The visit took place between May 26th and May 29th, during which time the delegation discussed plans for a joint exhibition with representatives from the Gyeonggi Provincial Museum and Busan Museum.
During the visit, Director Wang Wei's delegation paid visits to the aforementioned museums to learn more about the two institutions and signed an initial letter of intent for plans for a special exhibition of Yinxu archaeology. The letter was also signed by Kim Jae-Yeol, Director of the Gyeonggi Provincial Museum, and Lee In-Sook, Director of Busan Museum, and is the first step in the plans for a joint special exhibition of Yinxu cultural relics, which will be held in 2011.

The Gyeonggi Provincial Museum and Busan Museum are two of South Korea's most influential and internationally renowned museums, the former being located in South Korea's northern Gyeonggi Province and the latter in the south-east of the Korean peninsula. Both institutions have shown interest towards greater cooperation with the CASS Institute of Archaeology and are enthusiastic about the prospects of jointly organised museum exhibitions and academic exchange.
Director Wang Wei received a warm welcome during his visit to South Korea. He was accompanied by Cong Dexin, a research fellow at the Institute's Scientific Research Office, and Yue Hongbin, an associate research fellow at the Anyang Archaeological station of department of Xia, Shang and Zhou in IA CASS.
