Ten most valuable cultural relics displayed at Xi'an exposition park

Ten most valuable national cultural relics will be exhibited in Chang'an Pagoda, one of the iconic buildings of the 2011 International Horticultural Exposition starting April 28, the openning day of the 2011 International Horticultural Exposition held in Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

The ten cultural relics to be exhibited include, s Bronze Chariot No.1, a painted kneeling terracotta archer, a five-ear Ding with a dragon design, a bronze crane, a gilt bronze horse, a tri-colored glazed camel carrying musicians, a gilt marble standing statue of the Bodhisattva Guanyin, a gilt bronze statue of the Amitabha Buddha by Dong Qin, a Bronze Lamp in the Shape of a Wild Goose Eating a Fish, and a Painting of Ladies Standing Under a Tree.

Among these treasures, the Bronze Chariot No.1 is the most remarkable one. It was once displayed at the China Pavilion of the Shanghai World Expo. It weighs over 1,000 kilograms, and is made up of over 3,500 components, including a shaft, four bronze horses, a bronze driver, a large umbrella, over 3 kilograms of gold ornaments, and over 4 kilograms of silver ornaments. The chariot is lavishly decorated with colored drawings, and looks extremely elegant.
