Museum filled with stone age relics opens in northwest China

A museum exhibiting items excavated from a site filled with relics from the Stone Age opened last Saturday in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

The Shuidonggou Relics Museum is located 28 kilometers southeast of Yinchuan, the capital city of Ningxia, and is adjacent to the Shuidonggou Site where the relics were found. The relics date back 30,000 years.

The Shuidonggou Site was first found by French geologists Pierre Tedhard de Chardin and Emile Licent in 1923. More than 50,000 stone wares and animal fossils have been unearthed, many of which are now exhibited in the museum.
