First Jin Dynasty lorica found in Beijing

Beijing Municipal Administration of Cultural Heritage announced that they found a type of body armor called a lorica belonging to the Jin Dynasty in an ancient well from the same period at the Lize Business District ruins site on July 4. Officials said it was the first time that a Jin Dynasty lorica has been unearthed, according to chinanews.com.cn.

The lorica has great significance for studying military systems and equipments of that period of time.

As of now, the excavation has come to an end on this piece of land. The Beijing Municipal Administration of Cultural Heritage is negotiating with Lize Business District Administrative Committee to protect cultural relics and also make sure the development program in this area can be carried out on schedule.
