From:Chinese Archaeology NetWriter:Date:2004-12-19

by Wang Zhongshu,

Science Press, Beijing,  2005

The present book is a collection of 44 selected theses by Prof. Wang Zhongshu, a Senior Fellow of the Institute of Archaeology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Of them a small number were written in the 1950s and early 1960s, while the most were composed in the 1980s and 1990s, and some are recent works produced since 2000.

It is the author’s intention to expand archaeological researches on the Han-Tang period (2nd century BC---AD 9th century) from China herself to peripheral regions, mainly to the east maritime country Japan. This aims at clarifying various reflections of flourishing Sino-Japanese exchanges at that time as meticulously, concretely and truly as possible.
