Biographical Profile
Wang Xiaoran, born in 1993. She received her Ph.D. in Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU Munich), Germany in 2023. She served as a Guesting Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology (MPI-EVA) in Leipzig, Germany from 2021 to 2023. In January 2024, she joined the Department of World Archaeology, Institute of Archaeology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (IA-CASS) as an Assistant Research Fellow, then later transferred to the Key Laboratory of Archaeological Sciences and Cultural Heritage, CASS. Her current research focus on integrating scientific analyses of biological materials and archaeology. She is interested in isotope study and bio-archaeology, prehistoric archaeology of West Asia (the Near East), prehistoric archaeology of the Eastern Mediterranean and Aegean regions, Early and Neolithic archaeology of China, as well as archaeological theory and history of archaeology.
