He Yuling

He Yuling, born in November 1972 in Gushi County, Henan Province. He is a Deputy to the 14th National People's Congress, a Research Fellow, and a PhD supervisor. Since graduating from Zhengzhou University with a Master’s degree in 1999, he has been working at the Institute of Archaeology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).
He currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Xia-Shang-Zhou Archaeology Division of the Institute of Archaeology, CASS, the Director of the Anyang Archaeological Station, and Team Leader. He is also the Vice President of the Chinese Society of Yin-Shang Culture and the Executive Deputy Curator of the Yinxu Museum. He is the Principal Investigator of major projects funded by the National Social Science Fund of China and a project leader for the National Key Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
He primarily engages in archaeological excavations and research on the Xia, Shang, and Zhou dynasties, having long been stationed at the forefront of the Yinxu archaeological excavations. Dedicated to studying the layout of the Huanbei City and the Yinxu Site, as well as the archaeology of handicrafts, burial systems, social rituals, and social structures, he has published over 80 articles, including archaeological reports, papers, catalogues, and essays. He is passionate about promoting and popularizing Yinxu culture, having participated in popular CCTV programs such as Lecture Room,  Archaeology Open Class, Exploration and Discovery, National Treasures and China Archaeology Conference. His work The Shang Dynasty Tombs at Huayuanzhuang Dongdi at Yinxu, Anyang was awarded the Second Prize in the 8th Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Awards of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Anyang Xiaomintun (IV): Yinshang Remains Burials received the Second Prize in the 11th Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Awards of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
