The Archaeological Society of China

The Archaeological Society of China is a nationwide academic association established in April 1979 in Xi’an. It is a national, academic, and non-profit organization voluntarily formed by institutions engaged in archaeological work—including public institutions, research institutions, social organizations, and individual scholars. The Society operates under the professional guidance and supervision of its competent authority, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the registration and regulatory oversight of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.
Currently, the Society comprises 28 specialized committees, 133 institutional members, and over 3,000 individual members. It regularly publishes the Almanac of Archaeology in China..
